Gauge 10 in PGM301??

can the neck of a PGM301 hold the tension of a gauge 10 set of strings? or would it have any adverse effect on the neck profile, like maybe bend a little?

Easily. There's not that much difference between a 9 or a 10 set. It'll probably even work without too much of a reset.

If you go from 9s to 10s on a PGM (or just about any guitar for that matter) you will likely have to adjust the truss rod but that depends. You may be perfectly happy with the way the guitar plays after you put 10s on it or you may not. Regardless, you will need to reintonate the guitar. The neck itself will hold up find with 10s on it. That's all I string up my PGMs with.

I think you could probably put a set of 12s and it'd be fine.

I know from experience 11s will work on a PGM.

Re: Gauge 10 in PGM301??

Ive used anywhere from 7-36 to 13-72 in lots of different tunings on my guitars with various scale lengths and whatnot. None had any real issues beyond maybe needing a slight intonation adjustment and maybe a small tweak of the truss rod or slight action adjustment.

go for 10s every time on a 301, your tone will thank you for it
