Getting rid of new guitar case odor?

This may be my stupidest post ever...

How do you get rid of that annoying odor of new guitar cases? I recently got a MC100 and a UV1000 and they both have this strong 'new' odor!

Leaving them open for a while is not an option, because obviosly they're storing guitars...any tips?

Yep. And it works well. Masks everything from guitar scent odor to cigarette smells off your clothes (not that I would know... )

It claims to not mask smells, but to get rid of them and then the stuff is scented so it smells of fabreeze.

I used to keep a bag-o-weed in my case. It wasn't there to get rid of the new case smell, but it did the trick none the less.

Now I just let the new case smell disappear on it's own.

i already posted 'how do youg et rid of the Febreeze smell' post in another thread....

but my suggestion is to take the case to a bar and leave it open for about an hour. It'll smell like cigarettes (unless you live in NY )

Sometimes the new case smell isn't that bad, huh?

I like new case smell. It's kinda like the new car smell. Cat pee would change the odor!

Caprille, try to cut half apple and stay to rest 1 day or 2. There are properties on apples that can grab the smell. I have used this on my car to take that smell of wet dog when rains a lot, and you everyone use to put your wet shoes on my car's interior carpet. Worls well.

UGHH ! !!
My old bass player's cat whizzed on my gig bag.. a bottle of fabreeze later it STILL smelled !

I ended up washing it 3 times and damaging it before the smell was gone.

Cat whizz is so NOT the way to go...

How about carpet deoderizer?
