Ok this has been a long time question that I've been wanting to ask. What the difference between active and passive pickups, the only difference that I'm aware of is that one uses batteries and one doesn't. That's all.
Also what are the tonal differences, advantages and disadvantages that a switch to active pickups will yield? I hope you guitar pickup experts out there and help me out on this!
