Good Delay - Got any suggestions...suggestions...suggestions

I have not found a good delay to use. *The ones that I have had in the past all sound too thick and they start to cover up my sound... *I hear G3 and their Red House has good delay, any suggestions? *

Good Delay

VaiGuy,
what delays did you use to have in the past?
Digitals, analogs, pedals, rack units...?
What you mean with 'thick'?

DOD DFX9 Digital Delay. Love the thing. Been using it for 5 years now and I still love it.

Good Delay

From what you describe as your problem, I'd suggest a rack unit with a "ducking" feature (such as the Rocktron Intellifex). *This allows the delayed repeats to be audible only when you stop playing...while you're hammering away the repeats disappear. *Otherwise, just turn down the level of the repeats on your current delay.

As far as pedal delays go, I swear by my Boss DD3 and RRV3 reverb/delay. If these don't work for you, check out some rack units.

Try www.harmonycentral.com and go to the "user reviews" section.

Good luck.

Good Delay

http://www.rocktron.com
look product info there.
I have the Intellifex online and the replifex, both have some great features.
The rep. can trail the delays off into the next preset giving a really seemless transition. the INtel. gives great control over ducking and presence during playing.
Rocktrron is a grteat tool for those who aren't completely loaded with $$$ but good enough to tour with. IMO.

Good Delay

I've been using a Boss DD-5 since they were introduced. Before that I used a DD-3 and a Digitech PDS something or other. They're all good units for stage work and rehearsals. I'm thinking about trying out the new rack mount LINE6 Echo Pro Studio Modeler. Check it out at the LINE6 website or Harmony Central.

I use a Lexicon MPX-G2 in the studio. It's one of the best rack mount Multi-Effects units I've tried. It cost me Mega Buck$, so it never goes to gigs.

Good Delay

The boss delay pedals are pretty good IMHO, digital delay it's called if I'm not wrong, the delay I'm using is the delay function found on my boss GT5, very nice sounding, with tweakable feedback and delay times! Cool!

If you are looking for a rack unit, I cannot say enough good things about the TC Electronics D-Two. An amazing piece.

Good Delay

I owned a D-Two, it's still a rad digital delay, good price - jeffrey you should have bought it...

as far as pedal form delays, the only good one I've found is the Big Briar MF104 (mooger fooger company)... the H&K Replex is kinda neat, but I only got to try it out on some amp/guitar that sucked at a bad store.
