Greenbacks or Vintage 30's
I am going to be ordering a carvin legacy slant 4x12 as soon as I find out which speakers would be best. The music I play is instrumental rock, prog (dream theater), hard rock and blues.. I would be using the cab with an el34 poweramp (around 70w) and a Mesa Quad preamp. I really want to get a "marshall crunch" type of tone. So would vintage 30's or greenbacks be better? The 4x12 with greenbacks is rated at 100w.. is this going to be fine with 70 watts? How about 100 or 120 watts incase I ever want to get a head or something?
