GT-2 as in Sansamp GT-2? I tried one a while back and it had way more gain than I would ever use. You shouldn't put it in the loop but you can connect it guitar->GT-2->fx loop return, thus bypassing the preamp section of your amp.

ive sorted the hiss problem, still when i use it as a normal distortion pedal it doesnt really have the gain i like but i like the tones, any mods you can do to these things for more gain?
i cant really use it in the fx loop, allthough this is where it sounds best, without getting a reverb pedal to replace the amp reverb that the pedal disables.

bottom line: it doesnt have enough gain is there something wrong with this thing, i mean ive read reviews about this thing and heard the sound samples on the site, for instance the chunky rhythm sound on the mesa sample, i cant get the gain like that even full on.

i think i know what the problem is but im going to need some help with it. The drive knob, is somehow damaged, when you turn it to about 10 oclock it crackles a bit and you can hear the actuall power and gain trying to break through, if you push the drive knob down it seems to connect properly or whatever its trying to do and i get more gain at this position than i do with the whole drive knob turned all the way up, i have tried to remove the pcb but its very difficult as the input jacks ob struct you from completely removing the pcb from the casing, what can i do to fix the knob?

Try squirting a bit of electric contact cleaner into the pot. If that doesn't work, or if it sounds like there's an intermittent connection in there somewhere, i'd say contact Tech 21 for service.
