guitar tuners

i'm building a strat and i need to know the best tuners out there. I know Vai uses tuners with a large radius that take longer to tune but are more accurate, anyone know what those are called. thanks Phil

Gotohs are good. Stock Ibanez tuners. I think Steve uses something else, though.

If you're talking about these, Steve has been quoted as saying that he hates them. As far as I know he went back to the Gotohs after that experiment.

If you're building a strat and it doesn't have a locking nut, I'd go with some locking tuners like Sperzels.
