Guys, what your Value for Money 009-042 electric strings?
Hello,
Since im gonna replace
strings
often, I want some value for money guitar strings 009 - 042.
I normally use the Super Slinkys 009-042. Here they are about $16.
Anyone used any cheaper brand but just as good???
Ben

I'd stick with EB Slinkys.

I pay about $5.00 for d'addario xps stainless
I personally would never pay 16.00 for Ernie ball anything.

If I live in a country that sells USD 16 for 1 set of strings, I would 100% quit playing guitar, no question asked.

1. Alpha_AI, you need to put your location in your profile.
2. I wouldn't pay more than 5 bucks for a pack of strings.

Dang dude, you are waaay overpaying for strings!
Im partial to D'addario for my 9's (and I only pay $6 after tax...)
I also love Dean Markley Blue Steels for my 10's...haven't used the 9's but i'm sure they are just as toneful! The DM Blue Steels are $7 most everywhere I shop...

The internet is a useful tool. Up until recently, I was getting 3 packs of D'addario Nickel Wounds for £12, then the shop stopped selling them. Strings are expensive in the UK

I love my d'addarrio 009's and after mooching a cardboard shipping box from my local guitar store I repaid the guilt by buying strings off him. Then he said £6.50 for one or £10.00 for two packs so bought 2 of course and felt a little more guilty when he said he doesnt make anything from them but he did open his trap...

Jay, as you're in the UK I can recommend axesrus.com. They're doing 3 sets of D'addarios for £11.50, free p+p.

That's pretty steep! You should buy the 10 packs and get them imported from the US. I know guitars are on the expensive side in Oz, but I didn't realize everything else related was as well. I recently got 10 packs of D'Adarrio 9s with a 15 foot planet waves guitar cable (included in the packaging) for $35 in my local GC. But look for the boxes with 10 sets of strings on the 'Bay, that's the cheapest way to get them.

you are absolutely rite, I'm doing calculation on my own. The 10 packs D'addarion XL09-42 + shipping cost , makes me pay about USD 5/ pack. assumption goods below USD 50, free of duty tax.
Right now, I'm buying through a non authorized distributor 1 set of D addario XL 9-42 is about USD 4/ pack. So USD 5/ pack through online shopping is make sense to me.
The authorized distributor is selling XL 9-42 now is about USD 7.5/pack.
luckily for me, when I got it for USD 4/pack, I purchased them all, so I'm still have like 12 packs in stock now.
