Head to cab connection...

Can I use a 4/16 ohms head with a 8 ohms cab??? Would it hurt the amp or the cab? Would it affect tone? How?

You can run the head in 4 ohm mode with an 8 ohm cab, but I wouldn't run it in 16 ohm mode. More resistance at the cab is fine, less spells trouble.

Never seen a head that has 4 and 16 ohm settings but no 8 ohm setting.

I'm about to buy one hehehe It's an amp made here in my country, sounds wicked, only has 4 and 16 ohms outputs.
So if I run the 4 ohm out into the 8 ohm cab I won't hurt neither the amp nor the cab, right? Would it affect tone? Would certain frequencies be lost???
I'm ordering the amp tomorrow, ANY HELP AND ADVICE WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!

Nah, it'll be fine. You may not get full output, but you probably won't notice it.
