Re: Help me find a little amp with nice tone

I got an orange 1x12 for christmas and picked up the Orange Tiny Terror head to go with it...WOW!
this was to substitute lugging around my Boogie Roadster Combo, and have a good home practice amp...I haven't plugged into my Boogie since I got it. It's a pure tone monster. 7 Watt mode for home (although I like the 15 Watt mode better) and it's still loud enough to play live on the 15 Watt mode.
definitely a +1 on Orange's... they're like a simplified Marshall but sounds 20x better; very inspiring clean tones and the distortion's great for rock, it can't do Recto-status gain but it can do Sabbath
But if you find a good deal on any Mesa Amp, that's always my first pick.

Peavey Classic 30 with a nice tube distortion pedal would be a good choice on a budget IMHO.

So how much do these cost?

Imagine building a dumby (head) box with lights, knobs and buttons all over it and just set one of these inside it... noone would be the wiser

Re: Help me find a little amp with nice tone

we could set up a factory in china and sell them via internet with lifetime warranties and a fine print on the warranty card that says "Warranty void if taken out of the box"

It is a nice sound from those things. There was too much distortion though... sounded like they played it through some stereo speakers. (which I've done in the past and has similar tonal characteristics) However turn down the gain and I bet it would sound more like what I'm looking for.
