Help with Alesis and Ground Control!!! Vaijem any thoughts?

Hi ya'all, and Vaijem-I know you have the switcher as well...

I've had the digital music corp. audio switch GCX or whatever for years. Frankly, it kinda blows....I have had nothing but problems with it causing HUGE hums when I run my guitar signal through it before my amp. I have tried removing it from the rack, I have tried better cables, I have sent it back to be serviced, etc....basically I have given up on running audio through it...However, with my new set up that arrived today, see the rigs thread, I wish to use it to control the bypass feature on my Alesis Midiverb 4. Here is the problem: whether I connect it to N.C (nornal closed) or N.O (normal open) it does the same thing: you turn on the loop and it turns on the bypass, you change patches, and turn off the loop, say for discussion sake number 1, the bypass on the midiverb remains on, when you hit a patch with loop number 1 again the bypass on the midiverb will then turn off....its acting like a simple footswitch one push on, one push off....The midiverb doesn't have anyway of changing the parimeters for the footswitch jack....I've tried using a y-cable and trying to fool it using 2 loops to no avail...any thoughts on how to rectify this problem short of hitting it with a hammer???? thanks again in advance, later, Tobe
