Help with Edge Pro whammy bar!

I want my whammy bar to fall down towards the volume pot when I let go of it (don't want to push it down). I can accomplish this by taking off one of the white bushings, however when I do that the arm has some play in and is not smooth and "tight" feeling.

Is there anything I can do to get the results I am looking for?

It'll happen as soon as they wear a little. When I replace old with new bushings, I must say the tightness disappears prety quickly (after a few months). maybe you could sand boths bushings a little, or don't you have a guitar shop in the neighborhood that would want to trade yours with used ones ?

I just recently started using the whammy bar again. Once the bushings "wear down" does the arm get some play in it or is it just the bar swings more freely?

it swings more freely. never had the issue of a "loose" whammy bar that had more play. I can imagine if your bushings are really extremely weared out, but it never happened to me because I don't like bars that swing up and down like a clock
