Hot Signal From FX Loop

I own a mesa nomad 100 and I have a Geforce also. According to TC I need to keep the input level out of the red (kinda obvious I know) on the Geforce. The FX send in my nomad seems to be really hot and even with the input knob on the Geforce min'd out its still too hot. I contacted TC and they said to turn down the channel volume on my amp. This seemed to cure the problem kinda, but it affects the sound and depending on the pups in using the levels change etc. I was thinking that maybe having a compressor in the FX loop before the Geforce would help fix this problem. I was just wondering what you guys think... Will this work/help or is there another solution anyone can think of?

Cheers

I was thinking not a compressor but a graphic E.Q., a Boss GE-7 for example. Then just use the "VOLUME" slider on the right to adjust the level. I think a decent, low priced graphic EQ if you are strapped for cash is the Danectro Fish 'N Chips.
