Re: How many of you..
There are so many people like that around my way, that you can't throw a rock without hitting one. These kind of people deserved to be hit with rocks, however.

Based on your user name and this article, it appears as if you are in fact a newb, and in attempt to boost your confidence, you are making fun of a lower level newb. Congratulations

Re: How many of you..
Why do you continue to associate with someone like that?
That seems very counter productive, when it so obviously irks you.
Especially when you rant about their behavior, which accomplishes nothing as you aren't going right to the source of the problem.
Perhaps he doesn't know what a sh!t head he is being, or how it affects you...

tru dat.
BTW, we didn't have guitar class at my high school. i learned how to play the hard way...the internet makes guitar lessons super accessible. in the 80s and 90s(when i started) all you had were books, magazines and vhs tapes. all of which were crazy expensive. IF both of you end up sticking it out and playing for the passion, you'll realize that high school status points really don't mean jack out in the real world. one-upping the next guy isn't what the music game is about.
BTW, we all know the type of guy your talking about. right now in this big pond of jemsite, you are that guy.

Re: How many of you..
The Red Dog Barks at Midnight lol, well I know what you´re talking about my guitar teacher is all about gibson and marshall, the first time my rg1570 went out of my house I went to show him my brand new guitar, so he looks at it , he plays it unplugged and says, "the case looks really nice", I was like wtf!, so i plug it in and started playins some stuff and he sais "you know, the thing is this guitars don´t have a good sound, I mean I play guns n roses in my gibson les paul custom and it sounds great, I play
gary moore
in my gibson les paul custom and it sounds great, everything sounds great, and with ibanez guitars.. ahm.. well.. not so much.., they sound really bad"
that day I felt like kicking him in the nuts and then drop his lp on his face.

Gotta love that kind of narrow-minded snobbery, huh? I'd find another teacher.

Re: How many of you..
You guys are both noobs - shake hands, admit you know nothing and move on. He's a douche for saying Fender's are the best out there. If i love a certain guitar, il always admit that even though i might worship it, there's a good chance it won't adhere to other musicians in the same way. That said, you're a noob because you claim properties of your guitar are unique to it, but any of the features on it are available on a million of other guitars (LTD, Jackson, B.C. Rich, FENDER, Godin, Yamaha .... just to name a few). This is just another case of he said , she said. Just tell yourself you have nothing win by proving your foreign name brand product is better than his local.
Good luck and you're lucky for even having a guitar class..

Re: How many of you..
hmmph. i can't really say i've ever had that type of conversation with anyone. of course me being far removed from high school could very well explain why.

Your actually talking about the first law of Guitar Center dynamics; at any given time there is at least 1 of those people either shopping or working at Guitar Center.

Re: How many of you..
1) First of all, if you wear gel in your hair, you deserve to hang out with a scrub like that.
2) You are clearly masochistic for continuing to hang out with an idiot.
