Re: how much do you pay for strings?

I use mostly hybrid D'Addarios (the yellow package) and I pay it around 10$ per pack around here these days...
Previously I used Earnie Balls but they were breaking up all the time and their lifetime was much shorter compared with D'Addarios.
D'Addarios are bit stiffer than EBs but they last longer and are much harder to break.I can't remember when my string broke up last time while using D'Addarios.Really durable SOB's!!!

Hmmm. I use Daddario 10s. I havent experimented much with string brands though, I just stick with Daddarios because I dont mind the feel and they don't break with heavy whammy usage, ever. I pay around 5 USD per pack.

Re: how much do you pay for strings?

I use D'addario' for my Ibanez (RG's) (009 - 042's)

I use Fender bullets for my Fender strats (009 - 046's)

I use Elixrs for my acoustic guitars (010 - 046)

I find that the D'addarios last a long time, I change guitars reasonably frequently during play, so I tend to get a lot longer out of a set.

The Fender bullets are 'nt too bad, however they do get mellow quite quickly even with light use. (some people like this apparently).

The Elixr's sound great, I have only just started to use these so I can't comment on durability.

I absolutley HATE D'addario acoustic strings, they lose tone very quickly and feel horrible to my hands.

I usually buy all sets by the box. I have a few guitars so it works out cheaper in lthe long run like this. Cost is about $100 dollars AUD.

Re: how much do you pay for strings?

I've had some DR Tite Fit 10's on my Strat for about three weeks now. I can't tell a bit of difference between them and the D'Addario 10's I normally use, at least not enough to warrant paying an extra $4.

D'addario's mostly. EB's are harder to bend. They feel nice and smooth though.

Slinkys or d'addario stainless steels if they have them (they hardly ever do ), $15AU or $20 for 2 sets of the bay.
