Re: How much money have you spent?

-=Daily gear (and the odd gig)=-
Ibanez RG550 w/PAF Pros £350
Boss Metal Zone £ 35
CryBaby £ 35
Laney 120W 2x12 Combo £ 90
(Solid state, a little knackered but loud)

-=Stuff I NEVER use =-
Ibanez UV7BK Silver Dot £750
(Only just got, but I think I'll be selling it soon)
Fender USA Strat £400
JCM900 100W & 4 x 12 Cab £550
(I've had this years, played it a few times and it's never been gigged)
Boss GT5 £350 (that's the only one I feel a bit cheated on)

I could sell the rest, but it's got sentimental value. I've never bought anything new either, it's all been second hand from friends, papers or the dreaded e'Bay. I've had a few Jems and a couple of UVs but had to sell them all due to lack of cash

Just thinking, I've probably spent half as much again on guitar TAB books etc. (I'd hate to think how much I've spent on guitar magazines...)

Maybe I should sell 2 of my cars and half my gear and get the '94-'98 Supra Turbo I've always wanted

Re: How much money have you spent?

Updated:

Scary thought

Guitars:
-Ibanez Jem7vwh: $1950 (inc. case)
-Gibson Les Paul Classic: $1100
-G&L S-500: $650
-1950 +/- 3 Gibson LG-3: $450
____________________________________
Total for guitars: $4150

Amps:
-1969 Marshall Major: $800
-1992 Vox AC30TBR LE: $800
-1996 Marshall JCM 900 SL-X 2100: $800
-1986-1989 Marshall Studio 15: $500
____________________________________
Total for amps: $2900

Speakers and Cabinets:
-2 JCM 800 1960 cabs: $700
-4 Celestion Classic Lead 80s: $500
____________________________________
Total for Speakers & Cabs: $1200

Accessories:
-2 Gibson BurstbuckerTs for the Les Paul: $200
-Seymour Duncan Hot rails (use time to time in the G&L): $80
-Cables: $100
-Setups (now I know how to do my own!): $300 +/-
-Tubes and tech fees: $500
-Proco Rat: $100
-Chandler Tube Driver: $40
____________________________________
Total for Accessories: $1320

Subtotal: $9570

Stuff I sold:
Stock pickups in Les Paul: -$120
Proco Rat: -$60

Total: $9390

Not bad for a poor working college student

To add all the smaller expenses that add up over the years, add in another $300 for setups, $1000 for strings, $50 for picks, another $100 for cables that died on me, and that's over $10,000.

The good part is that if I were to sell it all, I should be able to take in more money than I spent. The Studio 15 has skyrocketed in price, the Major is worth a lot more than I paid for it, and the Vox has increased in value a bit (mostly with inflation though). I did pretty good value wise if nothing else, right?

Re: How much money have you spent?

I have around alittle over $8000 in guitar stuff. Then i have a stand up bass that cost $2400, my cello was like $1350, i used to have another double bass which was $1500 but my mom donated it to the local middle school orchestra when i got my new bass. I have no idea how much the paino was cause its old. A fulte which i have no idea how it cost and i can't play it but i have one for some reason?? Oh yeah a violin which is really my dads but now its mine and i forget how much it was but it was mabye $500 dollars??? Oh yeah and my killer harmonica LOL it was $75. So around $14,000 dollars in all my music stuff. NOT including the paino, but the paino is a family paino anyways. I have some other radom music stuff that i didn't include but i'm too lazy to write much more! LOL! Yeah i hope my dad does't read this either cause he payed for my double basses, cello, and some of the guitars like my uv777bk, but i bought all the accesories pretty much.
