I wonder what all of Steve Vai's guitars would cost... or George Harrison's or Slash's collections...

Re: How much money have you spent?

Well, I've got the studio rooms: rounded stonework walls and new floors plus aurolex 24X12 wall and double plate glass windows set in silicone....then there's the electronic stuff: 24 channel console, Mackie HD24/96 multitrack, racks of outboard gear and effects, a boat-anchor ADAT LX20 plus mics -AKG 414's with phantom power supplies Sennheiser 421's, C-1's all with spiders, Shure mics galore....more cables.....snakes....stands...3 Marshalls amps, Budda, Boogie, Fender amps, lots more cables......Korg N-1, Korg N-5, Nord synth, ARP 2600 with operator station oscillator banks, Prophet 5 synth, hand-made Premier Birch 5 piece XPK drum kit with Zildjian cymbals,

then there are the guitars......*sigh*

...but I KNOW I can stop......I don't have a problem, really.....it's NOT a sickness....my doctor says it's not too bad.....

Re: How much money have you spent?

Reading this makes me feel good. My total is something like hmm... lets see... price, tax, shipping...

RG760 $400 + $70 Pickup
RG570 $100 + $70 new pickups
RG670 $250 + $35 new pickup
Strat $100 + $50 new tuners etc
GSR bass $200
Two original wizard necks $130
Mesa .22+ $400
POD 2.0 $230
Floorboard $160
Boss DD-20 $190
Boss DC-3 $100
Cables $30
Two beater parts guitars that are still in Japan: $120

Total: $2635 over ~3 years

Ack! I've rounded up here, so its somewhat overstated, but its a lot more than I thought.

But when you get frustrated that you're playing isn't better, what's the best medicine besides some GAS?

this is a hard game to play due to the various countries and currencies i've used to purchase gear. obviously, for some things i overpaid due to where i bought (australia is pretty expensive!). i'll round it a little.

RG320FMTL $500CAN
RG1570MRB $900CAN

Re: How much money have you spent?

My current GAS budget stands at around £12.50 which is enough for two packs of 10's . With a baby due in Nov it's unlikley to change much either. So you can imagine, being guitar enthusiasts why I treasure my Jem777DY so much ......... I only wish my wife wouldn't look at me like I'm nuts when I asked if I could keep it next to our bed.......

Re: How much money have you spent?

I cant really work it out for every piece of gear I have ever had, that would just take too damn long. Not only that, but most of the gear I get I sell-on at some point anyway. And almost 100% of the time I make my money back or make a profit. But here is my current gear setup cost list:-

Ibanez RG421 - £200
Ibanez RG760 - £250
Ibanez PGM301 (thats kinda on its way) - £650
Custom Parts Stratocaster (for slide work and "Yngwie moments") - £100
Marshall 1922 2x12 Cab - £180
Behringer V-Ampire Head - £130
Behringer V-Amp 2 - £100

I have a very low guitar count at the moment. But what with bills and my car costing me money lately, I have had to let a few go But hopefully by Xmas I will have another 2 or 3 in the arsenal. I want a new amp head too, which will probably be a Laney GH100L.
