Hey, I've never claimed to only eat salad.

Salad's the warm up, then the steak, and/or the pasta . . . problem isn't over eating for most obese people, it's under activity.

Anyone can eat just about all they want, if they burn it all regularly . . . you can't eat 20 pounds of food then sit on your ass and wonder, "Why am I fat?"

I KNOW why I'm fat. I'm just too lazy, simple as that.

Have a heart attack, I did, it helps to wake you up, believe me.

Anyway, to stick to the topic . . .

Rough guess on what I actually have right now I've only spent about $1500. Not counting things like tuners and other smaller things.

Over my lifetime I don't even want to hazzard a guess, I think I'm actually still paying for stuff I bought 15 years ago on my credit cards.

Re: How much money have you spent?

Armitage,

Dude, seriously, see someone about this. Not only is there soooooo much, but I couldn't see any rubbish in there.

I don't feel anything like as bad as I did, in fact it just started me thinking that I had never owned a BC Rich, and everyone really should.

Damn!

too true - reminds me of the thread awhile back about how to "hide" purchases.
i'm somwhere in the $12-$15k range with gear/guitars. i don't think that is bad at all for being a working professional player. mechanics spend over $40k on tools which i believe justifies that i'm nowhere near what i'll spend in the future!

Was that for an OFR? These can usually be found on the net for less than $200.

Re: How much money have you spent?

Yuck. I just did a rough calculation, and it's over 20 grand. But this is over a long period of time. There was about an 8 year period where I didn't buy anything but strings, picks, cables, etc...

Re: How much money have you spent?

WAY the hell too much. Enough to probably be considered "mentally unfirm" in most people's books.

About 10 years ago, I got a nice insurance settlement from a car accident that wasn't my fault. The following week saw me snag a '63 strat, a '61 SG Les Paul and a '67 Martin D-28. I was young and stupid (as opposed to being older and stupid like I am now). I don't have any of the guitars anymore, as they were sold to purchase my townhome. But, it was fun to spend that much!

All in all, I've easily spent low 6-figures over the past 12 or 13 years. Ugh. Makes me ill.

Re: How much money have you spent?

I'd say about $60k Aussie, plus about the same in strings and lost/stolen tuners and guitar stands (big industry here in fencing tuners and guitar stands LOL)

No real regrets other than an amazingly awful Hiwatt combo which looked great but sounded just..... well, words fail me.....
