HS2 or Blue Velvet in mid position?

Which one do you think is the best? Needs the best clear, balanced clean tone, and I need it to mix well with breeds in a basswood guitar with a rosewood fretboard. Thanks!

I would say blue velvet, because HS2 is very low output.

Or personally I would say FS-1.

I like the VirtuAL 2 bridge model. It has a higher output and won't kill your tone as much when you switch to a middle/coil tap

Hmm. Two more choices...
To give an idea of what I'm goin for, I want a versatile middle pickup. I want it to mix well with the Breeds. Example of what I want:

Neck Breed/Mid single coil: Andy Timmons-ish Cruiser-ish tone a la "Ghost of You" (on DiMarzio's website).

Mid single coil by itself: SRV/Hendrix/Petrucci's middle position clear, balanced clean tone.

Mid single coil/Bridge Breed: Snappy Jason Becker ("Dwellar in the Cellar," "Altitudes" clean parts), Steve Vai ("Sisters," "Boston Rain Melody").

I know I won't acheive all that perfectly, but I would like to get as close as possible without adding a bunch of crap onto the guitar, ie more switches. I don't really care if it's hum-cancelling or not, because the two humbuckers mixed with it will be hum-cancelling, so it's cool. It's probably a better idea to go with a standard pickup actually, now that I think about it.
