I made my first baby step today finally got a TUBE AMP

well I like the podxt for what its for, but for me I just couldnt get used to the fizziness of it on some patches.

So today in a fit of anger I decided to call guitar center and see how long I had it, I lost the reciept.. Anyways he said 29 days.. Well needless to say I took some stuff I bought during the tone hunt 29 days ago and traded all my digital gear in for a good ol fashioned tube amp.

I got a B-52 AT-112 which is a 60 watt all tube 12" combo.. I bought this cause it was almost exactly the same amount as what I was exchanging. I didnt want to spend any more money.

Its got 5 12ax7s and 2 6L6s.. Its got a nice crunchy tone, and its clean I absolutly adore with my Universe. Its pretty loud I had to crank it at least once LOL..

For the money $549 this is a very nice amp. It sounds good, looks nice, well constructed, came with Electro-Harmonix tubes.. Not to bad for a stock amp in that range.

I have now joined the Universe family and now I can join the tube amp family

Cool ! I've just done it too but for different reasons. I was playing through a Trace Elliot 60watt analogue 1x12 combo and I was getting to a point where I couldn't hear myself above the bass and drums. So I've changed to a Peavy Triumph which is 120watt tube and man, what a difference

AHH, love that 30 day trial crap.

I've bought things alot of times just to see if I like it. . .then I take it back, no harm no foul.

I'm happy for you, I used to have a Boss ME-50 and thought it was the greatest. Then I bought a real amp. . .hahahahaha, e-bayed that blue piece of crap. I dont miss it at all. I dont even use effects anymore! I like just plugging into a good tube amp and seeing what can come out of it with just my fingers and the guitar. REAL tones. . .

Yep you can't beat tubes when they're a roostin'. I hate most transistor amps except for my mosfet Hayes and Hayes top with 'valve sound' which sounds ok. Emulators generally lack the richness of tubes...and leave behind a bad taste when you've got the emulated amp standing next to the emulator hehe. But the biggest problem is probably the complexity...too much settings and no idea how they'll work on the other side of a PA system. Set all dials on a tube amp to five and nothing can go wrong.

Congrats! IMO, the B52 AT-series amps and cabs are a lot of amp for the money. I've played the head and 2x12, didn't realize they have a 1x12, too. That's kinda tempting.
