Ibanez TBX15R - Tone Blaster Xtreme Amp

I've been considering ditching this little Peavey Rage as my practice amp at bedroom levels for one of these 15W ToneBlaster amps. I'm not necessarily looking for 'tone' from this amp... that's what my (soon-to-be monster) rack setup's for. I just want opinions from users who have this amp regarding distortion and value/bang-for-the-buck ratio.

Re: Ibanez TBX15R - Tone Blaster Xtreme Amp

I have the original Tone Blaster TB15R, and let me tell you, after six years of abuse the thing's still cranking like the day I bought it. Of course it has the dents, dings, and scars of a heavily used amp, but it sounds amazing imo. The sound is BIG for a practice amp (but should never be used in concert; it would never overpower a drum set alone), and the distortions are nice. EQ is pretty cool. Overall, a pretty good amp, I think. Try it out for yourself and see what you think.

I don't plan on taking this amp outside the house... mainly for improv recording sessions during those bright-idea moments and jamming with an amp that doesn't need a nuclear power source <$100 shipped for this "modern amp" sounds like a deal too.

I'll take your word for it. I've searched for these small amps in the major stores in my area. Only place i've seen 'em is online like MF; therefore the purpose of this thread

I used to have a TB50R, but I didn't really like the tone.
