Ibanez TS-9 Tube Screamer

hi everyone! right now i'm using an Ibanez stack with a Boss DS-1. i run the stack in clean channel and use the DS-1 for distortion. the sound is pretty nice. i'm thinking of getting a TS-9 for a more tube like distortion. anyone has any suggestions? i know i should try one but my local music store does not have one. so i have to order it online. let me know how you think of the TS-9 work with the DS-1. does it worth the $$?

the thing about the TS-9 is that it is really an "overdrive" pedal rather than distortion, which I'm sure you realize. With that in mind, i think it works really well with the DS1. It will provide a warm, strong midrange sound that would complement the distortion of the DS1 very well. Also, you can run them together for a third option tonally.
Are they worth the money? Probably - they seem to sell used on ebay for nearly what they cost new, so if you hate it, you could always unload it without much of a loss.
I like Tubescreamers - they are sort of a "bedrock" tone - one that you hear alot and can always go back to for a good sound. I'd stick wiht the reissue rather than the DX if I were buying one right now. Other options would be the Boss Blues Driver - also a good pedal.

I build an overdrive pedal that's very much like a modified TS9. My pedal is a lot like the Keeley but mine has true bypass switching. I have some clips on my page.
