I'm an idiot.

I have gone through so much gear this year it isn't even funny.. I got a 6505+ and a marshall 1960A not even 2 months ago---- I ran my pod into the back of the amp today and used the peavey as a tube power amp, and I was surprised of the tone.. I am almost getting sick of the tone chase--- for prog/ metal sounds.. i find it a lot easier to get a sweet array of tones for country, blues, contemp rock etc etc.. but for the heavies its tough to get what i really want...

i have a podxt (+model packs) and a 4 button solid footswitch..

i use this for practicing and any sessioning..

my GAS is telling me to get the rack podxt +metal pack + power conditioner + sonic maximizer + FBV footcontroller etc etc.....................

what should i do....

i am not so sure about getting the xtLIVE because i do not like the idea of stomping on your processor, id much rather have it on my amp and use a footswitch that can be replaced..

HELP

Try the Tonebone Plexitube or the Tonebone Trimode. I always find the Pod XT Live or the Pod XT fuzzy. But thats just me....

+1! The Plexitube is absolutely wicked - and as the advertising blurb says, you can tweak the various knobs and switches all day long, and everything you get is useable and musical. I run it into a Vox AC30 Custom Classic, which has stellar clean tones, and the amount of gain is just ridiculous - so much that I have backed both the gain knob and the tweakable channel 2 gain to almost zero!

And NO FUZZ!

Boss Metal Core? If you're thinking about a PodXT Live, try a Boss GT-8 or a VOX Tonelab LE. The VOX actually has a 12AX7 tube you can change to color the sound differently.

I use a Tri Mode AND a Hot British.

I have been tossing the idea of getting the FBV pedal board and Pod Pro XT for gigs when space is VERY limited or trips where we are pressed for space in the tour bus.

BTW - you don't run any GAIN effects in your FX loop on your 6505 do you?

That really made me wet my pants lol:P. Why didnt anyone tell me about these things. I may get one with Pod 2 for effects they just sound so amazing. Would it work if i let the modeling amp section off and just use the effects? Or would it affect my tone? Sorry for hijacking the thread.
