Is my Wizard wah ok?

Got a Wizard wah some weeks ago but I had issues with it. It produces too much noise and the sound gets thinner with the rocker in the heel up position! I sent an audio clip to Mr Teese but he said that is normal. Also the seller said "wah pedals are inherently noisy when engaged? Even the quietest pedals have some noise"! Is that true?

Anyway here is my clip that I sent to Mr Teese. Can anyone listen to this and tell me if my wah is ok? Your suggestions would be appreciated! Here is the link http://www.box.net/shared/0f6flckcgo

Descriptions:
0:00 --> 0:14 : I turned the wah on and off (3 times). You can easily hear the noise
0:15 --> 0:26 : I played with the wah being turned off
0:27 --> 0:44 : I played with the wah being turned on. You can hear my sound was getting thinner.
The rest: some more fooling around with the wah

Sorry for my bad playing Thanks for any suggestions mates!

The page won't load for me.

Wah pedals are always noisy, though. And the wizard gives a slight volume boost so it's to be expected. I have one too and it's great!

Thanks for the answer mate. I was not aware that noise is a common problem with wah pedals. I checked the page, it's still ok. Maybe you should change your browser.

Re: Is my Wizard wah ok?

Well, when you're using a wah like the Teeses with a more traditional circuitry (with the inducer, etc), it's going to be a little noisy when on (that's just the nature of the beast). The amount of noise can be significantly increased or decreased depending on nearby lights, power supplies, computer monitors, etc...Other wahs that use the optical technology (like the Bad Horsie or the Ibanez Weeping Demon) have less noise, but I don;t think they sound as good.

At my house, my Teese is a little noisier than at the place where my old band rehearsed.

To be honest, I think you're clip sounds really good. Try playing your wah in different rooms to experiment with the noise levels.
