Is the Vox Ad120VTX any good for metal?


I like playing metallica stuff befor st anger (wot crap). I know vox arnt normally thought of as metal amps but as this a moddeling amp im looking into it. What about the vox wah model that is on the floorboard, is that okay for metal?

Sure you can......................it has a rectifier setting on the amp selection. It sounds really heavy. The floor board on those things are great. The wah works well live................it has a cutting tone when engauged. Go with the head and 4x12 cab and you should have no problem playing you style of music.

i need a combo and the 120vtx is exactly the same is the head and 2x12 combo.

I recently purchased the Vox AD50VT which is the 50 watt combo version. It's an excellent sounding very versatile and loud amp. I'm into playing different styles of metal and Satriani/Vai and it can do all with ease. The setting that emulates the rectifier sound is killer and it sounds just as good as my Mesa Triple Recto head. There's also a setting that sounds like Zakks sound also. There are many other settings on there from clean to dirt and effecgts that sound great too. It has a pretty realistic tube sound as opposed to the digital sound that I've noticed you get with a lot of Line 6 type stuff. I'd highly recommend this amp.

the cpu which modifies guitar sound is same in all vtx, also controlls are same
