Is the zoom G7.1ut worth $230

As the title says, is it worth this amount? There is a guy selling one second hand, I want a quality multi-effects pedal just to mess around with.

I would assume this doesn't compare with the likes of the Boss GT-10 and the Line-6 Pod XT. Is this correct?

Re: Is the zoom G7.1ut worth $230

Well, I prefer not to mess with tube stuff...there's a series of inconveniences that come with tube stuff that I prefer not to have.

What I can say is that when I was deciding on a multi-fx board, I studied the zoom, vox, digitech, pod and gt-10, and ended up getting the gt-10. If you like to mess with a lot of effects, the gt-10 is a lot more flexible than the others. Plus it's Boss...thing is built like a tank.

Don't listen to 6fingers, he thinks everyone should just get mesa regardless of their situation. (I know you pointed towards Rocktron this one time)

The Zoom G7.1ut can get you some great tones if you are running it direct or through the effects send of a solid state amp.

I had one for a few years before I got my new amp, and the only reason I traded it in for some stomp boxes was because the G7 isn't capable of running purely in an effects loop utilising just the effects. I sort of wished I had saved a little more and gone the G7.2tt back when I got it.

The Zoom has some very convincing effects, and there are a few great amp sims. I particularly loved the JCM 800 model with a bit of extra boost.

The Zoom is also built very well, far more sturdier than the old Zoom stuff.

What incoveniences?
This rocktron pre has only 1 tube !
It's not a head with 400 tubes LOL
And it sounds like a full tube rig with a poweramp and effects.
And for only 250 usd!
So why buying a zoom?
And if you want to seel this rocktron it'll keeps its market place BUT zooms never.

Wrong.
I only point to mesa boogie WHEN people ask which amp should they buy but they don't say their budgets.
BUT when they say their budgets like this dude ,I give another suggestion just like this rocktron which you can buy it for a zoom's price.
And for real Rocktron is in a different level than zoom.
It's top quality.
When I was changing my zooms or digitech's tubes, guess what?Without its tube those things still works and it didn't change their sound a bit!
They have tubes just to make us pay more but they really don't affect the tone, that's why they're toys.
I'm just giving a professional option in the same price range. If everybody come here and say yeah buy a zoom, well there are no options so it's not helping him.
Yep don't listen to me and buy a zoom,be another dude complaining about how sterille and dead your tone is.
Next step is how do I get Vai's tone with my zoom?
LOL

6fingers - calm it down.

Putting a "lol" in your post doesn't automatically make the contents of your post less offensive to folks.

Thanks in advance.

Offensive?!
I don't get it cause it's about equipment and not about people.
I didn't say anything about this or that member,I only gave opinions about dead things=equipment.
I don't know where I was rude but still I'm sorry if I was.

Interesting, I've read of a few people who have switched tubes in the Zoom gear and noticed the difference....

Plenty of people have also been surprised by how the newer Zoom G series gear (probably the 7 and 9) does not sound sterile and lifeless like the old gear. It's had great reviews from all over.

Have you actually had extensive experience with a G7 or G9???

It's so difficult for you to have a different point of view and realized me and that guy already knew each others?
Maybe that's the way we treat each others in all forums we are?
Yeah you cannot have more than 1 point of view.Practice more.
BTW on which PLANET emochild is an offensive term?
Maybe in yours ,do people there have problems with EMOtions or CHILDREN ?
LOL

Those are YOUR opinions and I never said they are wrong.
I just gave MY opinios,if you or any other member don't agreewith them that's ok cause we are here to share opinions and experiences. If other people love zoom I don't care,I hate it and I have to share my opinions.
And yes I tested both of them cause I'm a recording engineer and I work for a lot of studios which have tons of equipments.
Instead of fighting my opinions you should be giving to that dude more opitions.I just gave one.

Re: Is the zoom G7.1ut worth $230

My buddy who has some of the best tone I've ever heard from anyone uses a zoom G7 in his rig. IMO it's a terrific piece of gear. It's a bit harder to work than the POD XT or Vox Tonelab or any of those, but once you get the hang of it, it's really good.

6Fingers, if you don't want people crapping on you for your posts, I might suggest rewording it in a way that doesn't involve insulting the gear in question. For example, instead of "zoom that thing down a cliff", you can say something like "I don't like this particular ME unit because...". Garbage posts like that don't help anyone.

Now let's cut out the fighting before the mods ban all of you wackos, and get back to the topic at hand. Scotte, I'd advise you try it out before you buy (at a local shop or somewhere else), but personally I think you'd be satisfied.
