Jason Becker ProTone Pedal...

I was just wondering if anyone else out there was interested in this or ordered one already.

http://www.protonepedals.com/product...on/becker.html

That link has all the official info on it and a link to a video of Rusty Cooley testing it out.

It seems pretty promising to me, its supposed to model Jason's amp tone and then have the boost button to push it for more gain.

Right now I am trying to decide between taking a chance on this pedal or just purchasing a Satchurator.

Anyone else wanna discuss this?

Re: Jason Becker ProTone Pedal...

I bought one months ago with a pre-order.

So far there's only delays...

Offcourse there was no delay with the invoice two months later that the pedal was almost ready and is soon on your way, after payment...

I am now two months further: no pedal and still delay. It should ship this week according to Dennis from Pro Pedals.

I will let you guys know.

Re: Jason Becker ProTone Pedal...

My $.02 on the satchurator:

I love it, but it is a very treble laden pedal, and the controls are uber sensitive. I've only had the pedal a few days, but have tweaked it a bunched.

I wound up scooping the mids on my marshall avt(bedroom)/jcm800 and sitting around 2 o'clock on the satchurator tone and love the results.

now, I'm playing a js1200ca through marshalls which is pretty close to what satch is playing so I would expect the result to be pretty solid. Not sure how this sounds on other systems.

Just trying to help with an extra opinion to give you a comparison of sorts.

I thought that too, but Splinter says it here:

Re: Jason Becker ProTone Pedal...

Um, this thread is about a decision between the Becker pedal and a satchurator, so I believe my very basic review, without recommendation, is warranted. Splinter stated he might buy a Becker pedal or resort to a satchurator, and invited a discussion, so I gave him my opinion of the satchurator.

Didn't seem too far out of the topic to warrant a call out!

Re: Jason Becker ProTone Pedal...

Yup, and it wasn't a call out, I thought you were mistaken about what the thread was about and put a post in a place that you didn't mean to. I'm not a moderator so I wasn't going to "call you out."

I know you're not trying to start anything, don't be so defensive. I didn't do anything that was even close to "calling you out."

Re: Jason Becker ProTone Pedal...

no problem. I admin a few boards that are highly abrasive, and i don't want to bring that over here.

Well, not really IMHO. The Peavey JSX sounds nothing like Satriani's 30th Anniversary Marshall Jubilees (6100). Comparing his tone from earlier days to now is night and day...Good choice on the JS 1200 though!

You should get them to put your name on one for the next shipment and tell them to call you when it gets in. That's how I got mine in July.
