Re: laney amp recommendation?

the VC and LC combos are pretty good valve amps. I'm not sure what they'll cost in the US but they seem to be pretty cheap over here.

Re: laney amp recommendation?

is it possible to connect 1 (not 2?) cabinet to a head? Im thinking of getting 1 hcm412 cabinet and a mxd120h head. is that possible? And its for home usage, izzit abit tooo loud? And must i turn the volume to dam loud to hear "true" voice of the amp?

Re: laney amp recommendation?

Easily possible, Jing. You just need to match up Ohms, and most amps provide two options, one tailored to two 4x12's, the otherfor one 4x12.

Never played a Laney myself, so I can't give you advice, but the guys from Opeth have gotten some VERY heavy sounds from what I've always been told is a medium gain amp, so let's say they're probably versatile enough for you to get whatever you're looking for.
