Re: laney gh50l

Typically they sell for about $450-550 used here in the US. 400euro is about US$550, so it's not a bad price overall, as long as it's in great shape.

I have the bigger brother VH100R, and I find it an amazing amp. Does anyone know how these two amps compare?

Re: laney gh50l

The GH50/100L are the gain channel from the VH100R, minus the reverb and extra loops.

The Laney's have their own "british" voicing. It's a bit Marshall, but the mids are a little lower in frequency, and it has more lows and highs available. Lots of highs. Oh yeah, and it's LOUD. If you plan to play at bedroom volume, it's either time for an attenuator or think about a different amp.

He did for around 12-13 years, this year he's switched to the new Marshall Vintage Modern.
