Legacy owners, what cab do you use?

So, I have been tempted to pick up another Legacy with the sweet new price.

My question is, who here owns a Legacy and uses it with a non Carvin cab.

I have an Egnater TM2x12 with what ammount to Celestion Classic Lead speakers in it and I am wondering how the Legacy will sound through it.

I know what the Legacy sounds like through V-30's as I owned a halfstack years ago.

Heres what i would do IMO. Get an avatar vintage cabinet....SUPER SUPER CHEAP! I mean, the cab (when i bought mine) Goes for like $530. I have mine loaded with 2 vintage 30s and 2 G12-75s in an X pattern. Now the speakers for for $120 a piece. That adds up to $480! So basically your only paying $50 for the cab.......Now sure your probably thinking its gotta be built like ****...

It's actually built REALLY SOLID! everythings perfect, construction, the tolex job is phenominal, the grill etc. For the price you can't beat it. Not to mention sound quality is absolutely top notch.

The legacy sounds great with v30s, they have a lot more highs then the g12s so i think it makes a really good combination.

Your cabinet sounds fine...

Though I would consider swapping out those speakers for either something more traditional like V30's or my current favourite which are the Celection G12 Century vintages... a 2X12 speaker cabinet with Celection G12 Century vintages in is is about 8Kg lighter then the equivalent with V30's and sounds just as good as V30's to me all the way through the legacy gain channel, with an even better clean sound.

Say no to heavey speaker cabs!

Weren't they $750 before? Is that the 'new' price?

As far as I know that has been the price for a while but I think the price went down when the LegacyII came out. It has just been a while since I have been in the market for this kind of head.

As far as the cab goes, I tried to order an Avatar with no luck. Despite my pleading they would not ship to Alaska. I think this Egnater cab is awesome especially for discounted price they are offering it to me for, $375. But it has Egnaters version of Classic Leads and my Mesa combo has their version of Classic Leads in it as well. So, it doesn’t make much sense to use it as an extension cab.

I was just looking for someone to come forward and say "Ya, I tried my legacy through such and such a cab with CL80's in it and I thought it was way better than the V-30's" or vice-versa.
