Legacy users help needed - Trying to decide if it is for me

Hey, it has been way too long since my last post so warm greetings are in order! I'm looking to buy a new amp for my newest gig and need some opinions on the Carvin Legacy. *First, I'm concerned about a 100(or 50) watt power section being too much for REASONABLE stage volumes - I know that alot of these beasts really need to be opened up to sound good. Second, having been spoiled by multi-effect rigs I need a simple way to go from the drive channel to a boosted sound with a little delay. I have a Tubescreamer and a delay pedal but that is 2 taps of the toe. Am I just lazy? Any rack stuff with a good delay and EQ together that won't suck the tone out? I just wish the effect loop was footswitchable! The last item is regarding reliability. What is your experience? Thanks for any input - this would be a big purchase and I really don't want to have to start over in a few months(G.A.S. pains). The Wife had to just say no to the Bogner Shiva that totally ripped me up, so I'm trying to find something in the ballpark(yeah, right). Peace!

I have had my Legacy now for over a year and absolutely love it. *I have it switched to the 50w setting. * I run through a Boss Digital Delay, Bad Horsie, and the Little Alligator for pedals. *My effects loop houses just a Korg rack tuner, Rocktron Hush Super C and a Furman power conditioner. *I love the response I can get from the head. *Roll the volume back a little bit to clean it up and it is amazing how the amp reacts to your attack. *IMHO, I would say go for it. *The only thing I noticed was there was not as much gain as my 5150 head, but I always thought that was uncontrollable and found new respect for a cleaner sound. *Lastly, the clean channel is incredible. *Hope this helps.

Damn Jimmy, you sound just like me, I went from a 5150 head, to the Legacy. I have had mine for 2 years now(I got one of the first ones, ordered it the week before they were available!!) I wouldnt have to say you have to crank it to get good sounds out of it. I run thru a Bad Horsie, and my loop has a Furman power conditioner, Korg Rack tuner, BBE Sonic Maximizer, and DOD G7(for chorus/flange/delay/reverb). I cant say enough good things about this head. And like Jimmy said, the clean channel is amazing.

I think it would be prefectly suited for what you need it to do. *You don't have to crank it to get a good sound, although I do have to push the volume a little to get the sound I desire. *But that is the sound I am using at home, and not on stage, so it deosn't have to be blisteringly loud to sound good.
