Limp Bizkit guitar effects

On the song Rollin, is he using an effect to give the effect of sliding down the chord during the chorus. I would think that if he were doing it with his hands, you would here the chord go from fret to fret as he slides down. It sounds like a pedal that works like you trem bar would, only the chord is staying in tune. I haven't doen any research on this yet, thought I'd start here. I've been diggin Wes's guitar tone alot lately. It's about as big as guitar tone can get. I never really paid much attention before, but he plays some very interesting guitar parts. Also, in one of thier video, I was watching on MTV.com it looked like he was playin a bass guitar with guitar strings. I'm thinking that would actually work and an alterative to a baritone guitar. He doens't need the high strings anyway. Anyone have anymore info on Wes's effects and guitars?

Re: Limp Bizkit guitar effects

Dunno about anything this "Wes" guy plays because I hate Limp Bizkit[sic] to pieces and think they need to stop while they're behind. However, it sounds to me like you're looking for a whammy pedal, which functions like a trem bar, but with a foot pedal like a wah for expression and partial pitch changes.

Playing with guitar strings on a bass is more than wrong. Poor scale for playing, thin tone etc.

+1 regarding the Bizkit, but Wes is actually a pretty good, and quite innovative player - just unfortunately wasted in LB

Re: Limp Bizkit guitar effects

Ah, I thought the whammy pedal only pitched up. I didn't know it would pitch a chord down. I may have to check on out.

No need to say anyone is better, no contest here. Just wondering about Wes's effects is all.

Not a contradiction, Wes isn't in the band anymore although I think he did play on the new album, whatever the case, it sucks, but their first couple of albums were great.

I really liked their first couple of albums. I never really cared for the band itself, Fred Durst is a douche, but the music always moved me. And Wes came from out of left field with a very fresh sounding style, I liked it, can't help it.

Wes is actually a pretty interesting player, whatever you wanna say about his band. And love him or hate him, he almost singlehandedly re-popularized clean guitar riffing back in the late 90's.

Fred Durst, on the other hand...
