Korg Pandora. I remember being rather fond of the first version - PX-1. With a little bit of chorus, you could dial in some great, fizz-free high gain tones in headphones. I've tried PX-4, and wasn't impressed at all. Fizz all over the place. There is a neat feature in it - it provides drum and bass patterns to jam over. If only modeling didn't suck, this would be a perfect device. Now there's a PX-5, but I haven't tried it yet.

Right now Im using a Digitech modeler..................Ive seen & heard about POD for awhile now. The Digitech has worked pretty good, Ive got no complaints, but I need more....................Digitech is pretty limited for cabinets.
Im not using USB yet.............just straight into some Tascam gear. Ill evetually grow into a full PC set up, but, what Ive got kicks it pretty good for now.

Re: Line 6 POD

Bought myself a PodxtPro for some weeks ago. I find it to be a very useable tøy. Earlier i had a Boss GT 6. I find the Pod easy to use, i can get almost every tone i want and its a really big upgrade to the GT6. Seems to have unlimited possibilities. A lot of people are bashing on Pod for not having good tone. Actually i don`t understand why. If you look for soundclips on you tube a lot of good players swear on their Pod:

Gustavo Guerra uses Guitar Rig.
even Andy Timmons uses it once in a while.
Heard about a new toy which is said to be even better than POD?
www.fractalaudio.com
Never heard it so i can`t tell.
But i would say you can`t go wrong with a POD.
Will make some soundclips as soon as i can find the time and post them here.

Re: Line 6 POD

I have a POD XT Live and a pocket POD. The pocket POD is the same technology as the POD 2.0 only in a smaller device. The thing that sucks about the pocketPOD is batterylife. It lasts about 1.5 hours and that's not long enough in my book.

I had a pod pro - nice piece of kit but a little soul-less.

Re: Line 6 POD

There's a small but vocal group of guys on sevenstring.org who SWEAR by that thing - Eventide quality effects with better-than-anything-else-on-the-market modeling. Word is the Mesas in particular are fantastic, as the guy who designed this is a big Mesa nut.

I haven't been blown away by the clips, but you can't judge something like this by clips, what with it's massive FX capabilities and the fact that what's supposed to really set it apart is the fact it's supposed to "feel" like an amp. I want to sit down with one sometime, but not so badly as to cough up the cash.

They actually sell you to them for a bit less than the advertized price, IIRC - once you're on the waiting list they send you a "discount" price a few hundred lower, I understand.

Re: Line 6 POD

A friend of mine with a big head and small talent was trying to tell me that the PODs werent a smart move, according to some yayhoo at Guitar Center, because if everyone uses it..................everyone will sound the same.
I just stood there staring at him I couldnt believe he had just said that. Because ya know?.............Everyone who plays thru a Marshall sounds the same. Or........everyone who plays an Ibanez sounds the same. Yeah.......... I can see where those monkeys at Guitar Center could get that idea
