Im sorry but I just dont see them as all that talented! Sue me. Their are lots of bands that play without technique that i like, but LP are NOT one of those.

Re: Linkin Park's Treatment towards their gear

that was a really cheap RG anyway, 370?, and that was for a live dvd, so I'm sure they don't do it that often

Um, why pick on Linkin Park - Vai regularly destroys RGs (well, used to), and Paul Stanley went through an Iceman every night when he was using Ibanez guitars.

I totally agree with whomever said that it's getting a bit old though.

It's packaged rebellion, how original do you expect LP to get?

We're mean, rebellious Mother****ers, 'cause that's what our record company told us would sell the most CDs this month.....

Don't get between me and my lite beer endorsement, or there'll be blood and er, tears......

Re: Linkin Park's Treatment towards their gear

I was watching one of the local music video shows on the weekend and there was a video clip with some band smashing 2 marshall half stacks with one of their guitars, i can't remember the band or the guitar it might have been an ibanez. I guess cause their rich and can get a new guitar at the drop of a hat they can do that.

Re: Linkin Park's Treatment towards their gear

I think everyone is over the "I smash my instrument because i'm cool and rebellious" thing.

It has indeed been done to death, and any impact or shock value it used to have has long since worn off.

The only thing this shows is that the "smash em' crash em'" crowd have no real respect for the value of their instruments.

To destroy a perfectly good guitar onstage, just to boost ones ego seems not only stupid, but childish. Being wasteful doesn't make you cool, it make you a fool.

Imagine how grateful a fan would be to recieve the guitar instead.

Just my two cents

Rock on!

Or even sign it and auction it off for a charity to actually do some GOOD with it! Sigh. It's mind boggling that there are people dying in this world every single day from hunger and yet rich and famous people get things handed to them for free all the time which they consequently destroy because they have no concept of the value of money. It's obscene.

Re: Linkin Park's Treatment towards their gear

LoL, you guys are so old, saying that a band sucks because you don't like the music...Hellooooo, just because they don't play 700 notes per minute or use the most complex chord changes in the universe that doesn't mean they suck! . I think that Linkin Park at least makes the effort to create something refreshing and original with the same old elements of new metal (rapcore, whatever), they have managed to create their own sound, and thats what really mathers... Or ask Edge (U2 Guitar player), he always uses same phrases. same chords, same rhytms and even similar effects, but when you hear him on the radio, you just know its him, because he too has created his own sound.
