Re: Locking Bridge, NOT Trem

You don't necessarily need a locking bridge, just a bridge with tuners. But that probably doesn't help any. The one that comes to mind in the EdgeFX, but you'd have to be really lucky to find one.

Why not just replace the nut? (or take the locking pads off, which I don't recommend)

Why do you need a locking bridge if you are building a hard tail guitar?

Schaller makes one - but you'd have to fill the holes for your bridge and drill new ones. Plus it's made for guitars with a bit of a neck angle to them - so you might have to shim the neck . . . But I've never played around with one. Check out Warmoth - they sell 'em. Although if I were you I'd just get some locking tuners and replace the nut.

Re: Locking Bridge, NOT Trem

on my neck, there is no nut. just the space for a locking nut which is much bigger than a normal nut. and unless i can find a nut that is the same size as a locking nut w/o it being locking. then i need to find a fixed locking non-tremolo bridge.

I'm sure there are ways you could fill in the space . . . it'd be easier than finding a locking bridge . . .

A wilkinson roller nut might take up the space where a ibby locker would go. I will bring my digi calipers home tomorrow night and get some specs for you.

Here ya go:

http://kahlerusa.com/home.html

Go to "Products" then "Fixed Bridges" and select the 3300 Guitar Fixed Bridge.

If it's good enough for Dave Mustaine and Marty Friedman...
