Looping device for vamp playback...

I need some kind of looping device, so i can play say just a chord, and have it playing while i play over top of it. What would you all recommend? Doesn't Boss Make one? And I remember hearing about some older one called the Boomerang which was yellow writing printed on a blue box. Please help. Thanks

I've heard the Boomarang is very good, but expensive!! And allows up to a couple min of recording I think, as well as reverse functions.

Just use your computer!

Connect to your soundcard, record a riff. Edit it if you need to, and play
it with the Loop option checked!

Why pay money for something you already have!

the line 6 Delay (DL-4) has a cool loop feature. It'll give you 14 seconds plus a ton of other loop options... check it out here...

I recently picked up a Boss RC-20 Loop Station at a pawn shop...too cheap to pass up.

Convenient package with click track and ability to layer tracks on the spot. Lots of fun.

mossman, if your jamming with your band, then why would you need to
record a loop in the first place!

Personally, I think a smaller computer with a large hard drive fed from
a mixingboard during practice is a GREAT way to record a night of
practice and maybe capture that *something* that you would have
otherwise wished you "had the tape rolling".

I even think a computer spinning in the background is easier to work with
the a Reel-to-Reel.

But hey, what do I know...I'm only in the 21st century.
