I just caught this now. He should call the Canadian Marshall distributor and ask to speak with the product support team first-just to make sure he's not missing a step in the operation of it. People do that all the time especially when their lives have been hectic. If it needs to be repaired then it must be brought to an authorized service center.
Please note: if it was purchased in the USand is still under warranty: The warranty on that product is really only valid in the US when serviced in the US by an authorized Marshall service center. Korg USA is the US Marshall distributor and they are the ones responsible for the warranty for items distributed by them to their authorized dealers and authorized service centers that are handled by them.
