marshall haze, cab questions

so, the new marshall haze series, there is a 15 watt head and a 40 watt combo. the combo has more features (boost switch, effects loop, etc.) and would seem to be the better amp, yet i and many others have heard and decided that the fifteen watt head sounds better. i believe this is because of the cabs. it is 2 12'' vs 1 in the end. so, i was wondering. i'm really bad with this kinda stuff, so bear with me if this is a noob question. but would it be possible to just hook up the 40 watt combo to the two lil cabs that the 15 watt version uses?

You can hook up an extension cab to the combo version if you like.

You won't be able to attach the combo to the two cabinets of the 15, as the speaker output on the 40 allows for 1 16ohm and one 8 ohm output. I believe that is an either/or output.

You can hook it up to a 4X12 cabinet though.

I have an Marshall AVT20 that I run through a 4X12 cabinet all the time. The improvement in sound is very noticeable, as is overall volume. Also, depending on what cabinet you hook up to when testing the 15, you may also be testing through vastly superior speakers. Not sure about the Celestion g12t-66 that Marshall puts in the 40.
