Marshall Mode 4 amp

anybody try one of these bad boys yet? what's up with it? buzzy? clean? not enough gain? for the ads and audio segments I've heard they all say "more low end responce and a 350 watt high gain amp" when it doens't sound all that "high gain" to me.

I think I will head downto my local GC and try one of these out. I'm not too fond of hybrid amps, but I still try to keep an open mind ;-)

I've heard two demos already since NAMM. It's VERY impressive. I'd say some stores should have them by now. there are two preamp tubes and the remainder of the amp is solidstate. It's quite amazing how warm and responsive it is. I didn't play one for myself yet. I guess you could say that the front panel is like a DSL100 meets a TSL60 with some other unique controls as well. they came out with special cabs for it, too since the amp's output is one that varies by impedence. the impedence isn't switchable but there is a chart on the back of it that you can use one 8 Ohm cab (full power), a 16 (lower power) or two 16's (for an 8 Ohm load for full power). I really need to play with one. I haven't been inside a music store in about two months or so.

Well, I just listened to the sound bites.

Sounds buzzy and stale to me, but I still want to play it myself.
