80s
Oh my God! It's ons of my absolute favorite amps man! Mainly because it's one of the only Marshall amps with a normal sounding FX-loop. All the others sounds TOO bassy.
I own a Behringer V-Amp2.2, a
tube amp
moduler with very good stereo effects. That Valvestate 80s is the perfect solution for me since it has a stereo FX-loop. I cannot find one also but I'm thinking of buying the one of the highschool I went to last year. It's damn old and trashed up pretty good, needs new tubes also I guess. I played it a few times and my V-Amp2.2 with the cabinet simulation of sounds just so sweet through it!

I really don't know... Nowadays they have the AVT or something, so I guess the production of that particular Valvestate is discontinued yes...
Try to get one second hand dude!

Hi,
I played the Valvestate-stereochorus combo (which was name s80 as the mono 80 Watt Combo too).
I really loved the sound but sold it when I completly switched to a
rack system
(I begun with a gx 700, then added a JMP-1... finally when I got my Marshall 20/20 poweramp there was no need for the Combo).
Search ebay (or google) for Marshall, Valvestate and 8240 (without Valvestate maybe for better results).
I saw it often on ebay (Germany) and on some second-hand sites (they go for €200 to well... there is right now an auction where it is at €373... too much if you ask me...)
Good luck,
Lenny

S80
Hey.
I'm a happy owner of a 8240 that i got new a long time ago.
It has Celestion G12T speakers and i absolutely love the bastard.
It must be the optimal thing, great distortion and overall sound.
Yes, Ebay should be the way to go.
It's used with an 85 Roadstar 2, but i'm getting an RG 570 in a few weeks
. I got myself a Korg AX100G recently and it's real damn fun to experiment with all the stuff. Right now i'm trying to nail Slayers Epidemic, that's one fast f***er

Tell me, do you have any trouble with the Korg AX100G killing your tone? Cuz I've got an AX1G, and it sucks the tone out of my Line6, so I don't use it anymore (I had the AX1G before the Line6).

Korg
I'm not much into soloing (yet)
Mostly i play rythm, fast music like Slayer, tuned down
Death metal
with lots of muting thrown in so i pretty much kill the tone myself
Go check Harmony Central out for reviews of them. I just took playing up again after a couple of years so i haven't had the time to mess around so much yet.
I'm pretty happy with it's distortion though.

Well, I don't solo much either, but I mean, the AX-1G really dampens it, makes it muddy, and takes away some of the treble and just overall tone.

No, i'm pretty happy with how it sounds. I think it sounds great for the money.
