Mesa

I'm possibly looking to get either the Mesa V-Twin or Bottle Rocket while saving and looking for a Mesa Quad. Any input on either would be appreciated. Looking to find out what each is capable of.

Re: Mesa

Quads are out there for $500-$600 easily. They're basically everything a MK series is but without the power amp. I absolutely love mine. The V-Twin is okay but it won't give you any of the qualities you'll get from the Quad. My favorite feature of the Quad is the ability to combine the channels. You can have 1, 2, 3, or all 4 channels on at once.

I've commented before that it provides much more of the Boogie MK tone than a Triaxis. Every component is full sized, and it will deliver more of the Boogie tone when used alone, without the Boogie power amps. The Triamp (to me) needs to have the Boogie power (or something like it) to get you the Boogie tone. The Quad is more complete sounding, even when run direct, or through SS power, or a Peavey/Carvin/etc tube power amp.

Re: Mesa

don't get a V-twin, someone just did here not to long ago, and sold it like a few days later, ITS JUNK...its nothing more than a tube OD pedal, and will not get you that awesome mesa sound...for a few hundred more bucks quads are the way to go...

Re: Mesa

Yea, I'm mainly after the Quad and possibly the Forumula Pre. The Quad is real nice, can easily nail the MKIIC+ and Mark IV. Looking around to see what kind of prices I can get on the Mesa pedals. The V-Twin seems to more than it should be. I doubt it will even compare to my modded MP1.

Thanks! I found that same site a couple weeks back, but I couldn't really check it out at the time.
