Mesa Cabinets...changing/repairing a speaker - taking one ou

Hey guys
I have to swap some speakers in my mesa cabinets

all the speakers are the correct ohmage so thats not a problem
I just want to make a matched set

I have 2 mesa verticle slant cabs one with vintage 30's and the other with G12-75's

so basically I'm asking what do I have to do to take the speakers out? take off the grill cloth? how?

wireing up will not be a problem

Thanks

I thought about that, but the speakers are not screwed in from behind
they are held on with what look like cap screws and nuts
the nuts of course are on the inside of the cabinet, the easiest access part.....
thanks though.

Humm

can you just undo the nuts and then install the new speakers ?

Are the speakers rear or front mounted ?

They are rear mounted.

If I try to take the nuts off then how do I tighten them without taking off the front grill cloth, because I can't just start putting the nuts back on without having something to hold the bolt

It's a sticky situation because I've tried to locate anywhere on teh grill cloth I can just pull.

I'm going to call boogie to see what they say

Thanks though dude

welll boogie should be able to help ........

it seems a strange method of securing speakers as how many users want to talk the grill off ?

I'm sure you could tighten the new speakers back up althought it does sound a bit of a mission

good luck
