Mesa Mark III Amp - Help Refining my Tone

Folks,

I've got the MarkIII and squeezed some decent tones out of her. *However, she needs a few things:
*Reverb (My head has none)
*Distortion (I wan't a little more gain at low volumes)
*Noise Suppresion

Anyway, I'm sure most folks will recommend pedals to do the trick....and I guess I'll need to put the Reverb and Noise Suppression in the effect loop while placing the distortion between the axe and the head. *Could you guys suggest some pedals as it's new territory for me and also help with placement in the signal?

Yeah I would recommend a boss overdrive..
not sure the of the model... but it is yellow and has 3 knobs... volume , level and tone ...

this sounds great...

reverb and delay pedal.. i suggest a Boss Digital delay and reverb in one pedal,,, I think it is called rv-3
it is a brown pedal,.....

u can use the delay, or reverb... or both together..

More gain from your MKIII? are you using the lead drive to set the gain and engaging the 3rd "lead" channel? If you can't get enough gain I'd pop for some high quality 12ax7's and swap out the old ones. A MKIII should, when healthy, be able to achieve insane gain in lead mode, unless I'm just too old to understand what insane is these days. Fresh tubes should help with noise as well. I agree on the Boss pedal; 2, 2, 2 effects in one!

Yes you should have more than enough gain in the lead channel. It has the most gain of any of the mark series amps. Try setting Vol to 7-8 and lead drive to 6-7, it should be more than enough. I have heard that if you pull out the rhy 2 knob when you are in the lead mode you get a gain boost. I got this from Mesa/boogie´s Amplitudes news letter.

I think the most likely problem from what is being described is that the volume is too low.
