Re: mesa soundclips please!

click me!

My UV straight into a Nomad-45, 3rd channel vintage, gain about 6, treble 6, mids 7, bass 6, prescense 4, with a AKGC1000s more or less close micing it. I start with the volume back (no high pass filter, incidentally - a prior owner removed it) and gradually work my way up as I go. Just aimless noodling over an acoustic riff I'm toying with, so don't expect miracles. Mix sucks, too - it was like 5 minutes tops, lol.

I'll try to get you some "heavier" samples later.

(oh, and for the easily offended, the title has a four-letter synonym for "screw" in it, directed at the members of sevenstring.org, in response to some good natured ribbing... )

Where's that :fawk: smiley when you need it?

Frankly, I'm surprised no one's tried the "beer at the end of a stick" approach.

Re: mesa soundclips please!

this is a clip off my triaxis in MESA MARK IV mode (LD2 green). I used SD-1 with little added drive for a some tone shaping. guitar is RG7620 with TZ7 in bridge.

this is a clip off my triaxis in MESA MARK IV mode (LD2 green) again. I used SD-1 with NO drive only tone knob used. guitar is a mexican strat with David Gilmour EMG pickups.

Drew, man, you have an amazing tone and feeling! I just love your song writing, I listen to your songs in my mp3 player along with Satriani (A Pagans Prayer is amazing). It is time to release your CD and not just talking about it :-D .

Quality playing like always, you have great tone and phrasing going on there. Just out of curiosity, what do you use for drum programming these days?

Re: mesa soundclips please!

Jeez, thank you guys. I'm working on it, slowly - I hope to have a CD for sale by the end of the year, and I'll pimp it to death around here when i do.

Pawal, drums were done in Fruty Loops. I'm hoping to call in a favor from a drummer buddy and get him into a studio for me when the final recording stage comes around

this is tricky because you don't always hear "just the amp" between multiple mics, EQing double tracking and layering it with some other amps, not to mention compressing and all the other "studio magic" that can come along with a cd
