MIDI Dilemma - soo many cables so few jacks

I am controling my Pod Pro channel changes from my GT-3 via MIDI but now I got a Whammy and also would like make patch changes to that via MIDI.
So the set up would be a problem since neither the GT-3 nor the Pod Pro have a MIDI thru port. And the Whammy only has a MIDI in! Right?

Could I do this?
GT3 (MIDI Out) -> Pod Pro (MIDI In) -> Pod Pro (MIDI Out) -> Whammy (MIDI In)

Or: Is there such a thing as a MIDI splitter or "Y" cable?
Or: do you have another idea that would help.

Thanks
-Andrew

MIDI Dilemma

Hi,
Try one of these... http://www.philrees.co.uk/products/thruunit.htm

It will split your signal so that each device can have its own feed. I think the V3 goes for little more than a tenner (UKP)

I'm pretty sure the Pod Pro's MIDI Out acts as a MIDI Thru, as well.

MIDI Dilemma

Well, after doing some research, I am going with some products from:
http://www.midisolutions.com
specifically the "Merger" (http://www.midisolutions.com/prodmrg.htm) and the "Thru" (http://www.midisolutions.com/prodthr.htm)

Before you buy something else did you try the GT3 (MIDI Out) -> Pod Pro (MIDI In) -> Pod Pro (MIDI Out) -> Whammy (MIDI In) setup?

It should work fine.

MIDI Dilemma

Whoa those look very useful. I've going to have to bookmark that page...If I REALLY get into MIDI...I might invest in that T8. So If I had a pedal board run into that then I could have every piece of MIDI gear controlled easily without having to link each piece together. i dont know it looks easier.... its nice to know that they make stuff like that because I was kinda worried about that.

"how am I gonna control BOTH my JMP-1 and an effects unit!?!?" hehehehe then I learned that the JMP-1 has a thru anyway

MIDI Dilemma

rgr:
I thought of doing the "GT3 (MIDI Out) -> Pod Pro (MIDI In) -> Pod Pro (MIDI Out) -> Whammy (MIDI In) " thing but that is just one mess of wires running 25 feet from the rack to my board.
Thanks for the though though.
