midi floorboards?

im going to be needing a very basic midi board to control my preamp soon, its a tech 21 psa-1 and all i need the board for is switching presets, so i dont need a massive board with dual expression pedals and stuff like that, just one that can go from my heavy rhythm preset, to my lead preset to my clean stuff, etc. (probably 6 diff. presets) if any of you could suggest me a midi pedal that would kick butt!

Even though you said you dont need all the bells and whistles, I would still go with a behringer one to allow for further expansion or your rig (trust me, it happens!). There really cheap and Ive only heard good things about them...

about $150, if I remember correctly

I've used one for the last 2 years. Never the slightest problem with it and it is very configurable once you wade through the manual.

Most importantly for me there is a decent amount of space between the pedals which makes changing patch on stage far easier.

If all you need is a simple patch changing with some parameter control then the behringer is your best bang for the buck by far. The DMC ground control is great but it's 3 times as expensive. I used a behringer for a while with a POD Pro and TC Electronics G-Major and it worked just great...not as flexible as the ground control as far as toggling individual effects on and off within the same patch, you can only change the whole patch. I'd definitely go that way first and as you get more familiar with midi you can increase you flexibility as your needs increase rather than buying more than what you need right now. Used you can find these for $100 or less.

I'll be getting the Behringer myself for my soon-to-be-paid-off Yamaha DG130HA head. My theory is that it's better to have more pedals than I need, so that in the future I will be ready for whatever additions I may make, rather than to have not enough flexibility. Then again I've never had any MIDI gear before and I don't quite know what I'm talking about, as I'm traditionally one of those "One channel, use the guitar's volume knob for a clean sound" guys.

I was talking about the Behringer. I think I paid about £90 for it.
