MIDI solution for me, please help

I just bought the T.C. Electronics G-Major. It will be in the effects loop of my amp, switching my amp as well.

For some freaking retarded reason, there is no way to send the phase and wah effect to the front of the amp. So... i decided i am going to keep my analog wah and phase pedals and use them in the front. So,

I need a midi floor board. Something with 2 analog loops that i can plug the pedals into, and keep them on all the time, and just activate them with midi. I also need this midi board to switch the g-major patches for me (sometimes both simulateously). I dont see myself needing an expression pedal on the floorboard although i would like to look at boards with both options. Anyone have recommendations?

Re: MIDI solution for me, please help

you can keep all your pedals and do a DMC GCX setup. gcxs have 8 loops all midi controlled. These can be used for function switching for amp channel switching or setting pedals active or inactive in the signal chain. They are very cool units. i will soon have two of them. I use them for function switching on a mesa mark iv and mesa quad preamp.. i also use it for choosing between either preamp and sending it to the mark iv power section. So I have 7 independant channels then the EQ'd version of each.

If you have a lot of pedals that you would like to keep, but not dance on, then these units are phenomenal, but not cheap. It would be about $800 for a new DMC Ground Control Pro and DMC DCX Switcher. Very worth it though. you can technically run up to 4 GCXs with a GC Pro, but it is highly unnecessary i would think, unless you have like 30 pedals. Also you'd want to go with the GC Pro over other midi boards because the GC Pro is made to work with the GCX and it makes it simple to program.

Hope this gives you some insight

thats right. 10 years ago [thats when i didn#t transport my stuff], i used this setup:

exef midi mapper midi footcontroller [mide controller with 2 programmable swiches - which i used to controll the amps] and a custom made looper/swicher. the lehle would have been the simple version of this mess.
if you like to the full programm you, might take a look here:

http://www.axess-electronics.com/ [looper]
http://ampservice.de/index.php [these are the custom made midi-pedals i mentioned - you have to call, because they're no listed anymore...]
or the rocktron patch mate...

cheers

I think the G System would do what you want without anything additional. I didn't know that the G Major wouldn't.

The G-System still does the phaser in the loop, and not before the preamp. The wah is done before the preamp though.

thats a great resource, but i can tell yout hat the list price on the DMC GCX is wrong. They sell for new at GC and *************** for $399. no way the list price is $350. It would be somewhere around $500 - $550+ for list price. So I would question the rest of the prices. It seems like the Rocktron patchmate at a list of $769 is pretty high. Although the Patchmate is discontinued and has been for a while, so i think this site is pretty out of date. Still good for getting ideas of what is out there

for sure - the prices were all strage. but i think its a good way to tackle the question if you don't know where to look.

the bradshaw patch mate is a really good solution but on the other hand quiet & pricy. i don't know, but sepsis might look for a cheaper solution.
cheers
