Re: mode four

I've played one, sounded decent. But, as was said, tube pre-amp, solid state power-amp. I wouldn't say avoid it like the plague, I'd say try before you buy. If you like it, go for it. Solid State doesn't have to be evil.

Re: mode four

There's a Mode 4 in the studio when we rehearse. If I don't bring my dual rectifier, I can play either that, or a JCM 200 Triple Super Lead. Put it this way... I've never opted for the Mode 4. It' not that it's all that terrible, it's just not that good. It's loud and has tons of gain, but it doesn't really cut, and has a very buzzy like sound. It's alright, I agree with two hands, it's not the plague, but its definately NOT worth price.... it would be cool if it was like a $500-800 head.

It's not even a tube preamp, it has a single tube in the preamp and due to the way the amp sounds, I don't even know why.

It's designed for numetal, and ay overpriced. It would be appropriately priced at $300, maybe $500 max, not $1300.
