in your opinion what amp would have the most metal sound with a mxr 12 equlizer? (the 12 is howmany of those little light things are on it i forgot what thats called.)

i belive that the 5150 has the most gain of any amp around, it may not be voiced to you liking though. I played a boogie road king and loved it very gainy . The peavey xxx has some good gain too. Krank is up there as well. I am personally looking at a genz benz el diablo, krank revolution, or a mesa for myself to get me some good gain

i hear the roland jc-120 is the high gain king of amps. it will give you the sweetest most metal sound, just like dime................

The Roland Jazz chorus a king among clean amps, but its well known for being awefull, terribley bad at distortion and overdrive sounds.

I like the Peavey 5150 myself.

5150 hands down if you like a raw Thrash tone. Sworn Enemey, Chimaria, Atrayu, Opeth, Unearth, Arch Enemey, God Forbid all do or have used 5150 or 5150 II. I use a 5150 II in out metal band.
