The closest Major store is Guitar Center San Jose, which is within 20 miles from Palo-Alto. *They don't have a lot of Jems/UVs/JS, usually only few of the current models. *However, it is a decent size store and it's not bad for browsing. *Exact address and contact can be found on guitar center website. *There are 3 more GCs in the Bay Area but you need to drive as far as 50 miles from Palo-Alto (one in San Francisco, one in Concord and one in Richmond).

Height-Ashbury music is another major store located in the infamous Height-Ashbury area in SF City. *They also have a website for address and directions. *Although they carry Ibanez most are low ends. *Decent collection of acoustics, Les Pauls and strats.

If you have time to check out small stores near Palo-Alto I suggest using the Yellow Pages. *Call them up and ask them what they have first. *That will save you from driving down to the store and found out it was a wasted trip.

Hope this helps.

Sorry for the late reply.
Most GCs carry black color Dimarzios. *To my knowledge at least they would carry a few different models but not necessarily EVERYTHING. *For example, they may have PAF Pros, but only F-spaced, or they may have Fred or Evolution but not Breed. *If you know what you want, call ahead and check first to save you a trip if they don't have stock.

Honestly, the best way to buy Dimarzios is to mail order them through some of the vendors here on jemsite. *You'll pay shipping but it's cheaper than California Sales tax if you buy, say, 2 humbuckers. *But that's just my opinion.
